Love

Let's keep the Love Month burning with Love, one more time.

"See, the 17 year old girl in me fell in love with your silent eyes.
I imagine they looked the same when you were convinced of your own brokenness.
I imagine your lashes wrote anthologies every time they kissed your cheeks;
maybe that's why I heard a century of voices in your quiet.
Every unspoken part of you sang symphonies when we touched
and I found myself wanting to be a musician all over again."
- Aman Batra, "When The Timing Isn't Right, Neither Is The Man"

"You are a horse running alone
and he tries to tame you
compares you to an impossible
highway
to a burning house
says you are blinding him
that he could never leave you
forget you
want anything but you
you dizzy him, you are unbearable
every woman before or after you
is doused in your name."
- Warsan Shire, "For Women Who Are Difficult To Love"

"I kiss temporary lips with permanence
Hoping that I can train them to stay
I love temporary people with permanence
Hoping that I can train them not to leave
And when they do
I claim to have seen it coming
I am incapable of forgetting
A scrapbook memory of skin and heartbeat
Of touch and moments
I know not to look directly into eyes
For they can be blinding
And I still
Do it anyway."
- Danielle Shorr, "I Will Regret This In The Morning"

Blanks

Weekend. It's the thing I most look forward to the entire week! A time to just breathe and relax and not think of anything. Which is what I also want to don on myself. Something that doesn't require much thinking and is a breeze! Like how this green backdrop dotted with pink petals is charmingly uncomplicated. It's so pretty, it's my kind of wonderland! Again, nestled in Dubai Miracle Garden. We were just standing in one corner of this floral theme park, no one would even notice. But it did catch my heart in a breeze ~

So I'm gonna give this #OOTD a shot. Learning by the book from Ms. styLIZed herself, Liz Uy, a white shirt and jeans are both a blank canvass you can easily play up with. But as for me, I put two blanks together. What was I wearing? A thrifted 20Dhs white V-neck T-shirt, gifted (which now turned to be a favourite) American Eagle Outfitters ripped jeans, super comfy Carolina Boix loafers, Anne Klein rose gold watch I had from Mama as College graduation present, Aldo aviators and (my all-around) satchel. Complicated? Yes? No?

Dear No One,

I am glad I have found this song (or this song found me!) just days before Valentine's Day. Although this day is mostly focused on people with their Valentines, chocolates and flowers; I have you, and that doesn't make me or other people out there less loved. More so, love comes in different kinds, forms and greatness and it still is... love. I instantly fell for Tori Kelly's music and aesthetics. Which made me listen to her song after song. I  want to let you know that I'm also sort of the girl in this song. That is why someone's got to be patient or 'crazy' enough to be with me! Sometimes, I just need someone, too. These times make me so open to endless possibilities and excited to meeting you. I've always entrusted God to introduce us someday and I know it'll be worth the wait. I hope you don't run impatient because I won't for you. It's a thing to wait, you know, you get to hope. I mean, to hope, it's the next best thing to excitement! (The Perfect Moment, Simple Truths)

So let me dish this out for you - my future someone, when the time is right you'll be here.
But for now, Dear No One, this is your love song...

Miracles

Aaaand us girls are back at it again! Here's to Da Adventures of Aly, Julie & Louie :)
Just over one weekend and our days are changed from dull to technicolor. I still had to search on Google to complete this quote - But I always say, One's company, Two's a Crowd and Three's a Party - which words are by the famous US Artist and Pop Art Culture figure Andy Warhol. Our mini adventure though, did not consist of abstract art but beautiful, colourful, explosion of intricate blooms by artist Mother Nature. The three of us decided to escape the skyscraping city to visit the flowering gardens in the middle of Dubailand (location map here) before the summer heat gets the better of us and decides to finally settle in! Dubai Miracle Garden, which I now want to call version 2.0, is a dream!! I'm injected with more inspiration to live life in colour by the time we left. To even have breakfast before heading there was the last thing in our minds! HAHA! That is why after we spent photo shooting in the garden, us girls drove back to City Walk, Al Wasl Jumeirah for quick drinks and roti. Before heading again to a party at our Tito Dante's place in Deira.

Oh, and I've read Fairy Godmother in Cinderella say "Even miracles take a little time."

Florals

Just like how I've always looked at the world and my life - A Wonderland!
There is some serious flower power going on here and I shall bring it in chapters (so as not to overwhelm because I too could NOT get enough of it). A floral adventure I had with my darling cousins; and also, marking today as missalysonfaith domain name has been altered to faithalyson.blogspot.ae
There - short and simple...

So Smile! For the flowers are the earth's laughter :)
